About Holmes Adaptations LLC
Certified Aging in Place Specialist
Occupational Therapist with over 13 years of experience working with older adults.
Our mission is to improve quality of life and reduce fall risk through individualized approaches to home accessibility modifications. At Holmes Adaptations LLC we are aware of the implications of various diagnoses, the progression of aging, and how to promote safety and functionality in the home as needs and abilities change.
While the ADA and Universal Design provide standards for accessible design, they do not take into account the customization that make home modifications or remodeling successful for specific individuals. By taking a person’s goals, current and future condition, AND environment into consideration we are able to make everyday tasks easier, reduce Fall Risk, and support independence in the home. This allows older adults and individuals with disabilities to age in the space they feel most comfortable.

Testimonials
“I was in a hospital and an assisted living facility for ten months with a collapsed vertebra learning to walk again. Holmes Adaptations LLC was tremendously helpful in getting me ready to go home. Katie talked with me and assessed my needs. She then went to my home to see what modifications were needed for me to safely return. Katie presented me with videos and marked up photos of what needed to be done. She recommended, and worked closely with, a company that specialized in aging in place renovations that modified the bathtub, added indoor and outdoor railings and otherwise prepared the house me to live in safely. Katie is very easy to work with, empathetic and organized, and has great contacts. I could not recommend her more highly.” R.S. Arlington, VA
“Katie has been so helpful and responsive during this transition for my mother-in-law to age in place. We are so grateful for all your guidance and knowledge!!” A.S. Arlington, VA
