Home Modification Occupational Therapist
Katie Holmes is an Occupational Therapist that has been working with the geriatric population for over a decade in skilled rehabilitation facilities, home health, and assisted living settings.
Changes in healthcare over the years made her want to do more to be proactive versus reactive. Katie’s passion lies in creating functional and accessible environments for clients through home modifications. She wanted to create a business in the community to help support older adults and their families through low to mid cost home modification recommendations. She focused on additional credentialing as a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS), and Executive Certificate in Home Modifications (ECHM). Katie is also a member of HMOTA (Home Modification Occupational Therapy Alliance) a group of professionals committed to providing home accessibility to clients throughout the country.
Katie is involved in community groups that help promote safety and support for older adults. She is a member of the Northern Virginia Falls Prevention Alliance and in promoting universal design principles through the Arlington Commission on Aging’s Housing Committee.

“Home safety, fall risk management and home modifications have always been the aspect of Occupational Therapy that I am most passionate about. I strongly believe that one’s environment has a huge impact on their success participating in everyday activities and quality of life.”
